E-bike rider charged after Kitchener crash

Charges have been laid, after a crash between an e-bike and an SUV shut down a Kitchener intersection.

Regional police say the crash took place in the area of Duke Street East and Madison Avenue North around 3:30 Thursday afternoon.

The intersection was closed for two hours for the investigation, reopening around 5:45 p.m.

The 22-year-old rider of the e-bike was sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

He was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
