Pair of weekend losses for Panthers

It was not a good weekend for the Kitchener Panthers.

Kitchener fell to 5 and 8 on the season following losses on Friday and Sunday.

The first-place Welland Jackfish extended their winning streak to five Sunday with a 17-9 romp over the visiting Panthers.

Welland's Brandon Nicholson went 4-for-5 with five RBI and two runs.

Brett Reid (0-1) took the loss, giving up eight runs (six earned) on six hits over four innings.

Kitchener was also beat by the Cardinals in Hamilton on Friday evening, the final score was 5-1.

The Panthers are scheduled to play in Brantford on Wednesday night.
