Original Story:
A winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Waterloo Region for part of the weekend.
According to Environment Canada, snow is expected to develop early Saturday and continue through to Sunday morning.
Scattered snow squalls and strong winds are expected to lead to difficult travel conditions.
The weather alert from Environment Canada read, "Travel is not recommended. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common."
The snow is expected to taper to flurries on Sunday morning. There's the potential for almost 10 cm of accumulation due to the weather system.
