First female dean of engineering at UW passes away

She's being remembered as a dynamic force for the University of Waterloo and Waterloo engineering.
Dr. Pearl Sullivan, UW's first dean of engineering and the first woman to hold the job, died Saturday following a 12-year battle with cancer.
Sullivan served as the dean from July 2012 until December 2019.
She was the fourth woman in Canada to head a school of engineering.
The President of UW, Feridun Hamdullahpur, said on Twitter Sunday that the UW community and Canada “have lost a true leader with the passing of Dr. Pearl Sullivan.”
A celebration of life will be held at the University of Waterloo at a later date.
