An indoor electric go-kart track has opened at Frederick Mall in Kitchener.
A spokesperson with SpeedQuest told CityNews 570 in December of 2021 that the goal was to open to the public in January.
They business was dealing with supply chain issues as the site was broken into, and around $57,000 in electric chargers were stolen.
SpeedQuest initially confirmed it opened on April 13, 2022, but later sent a clarification stating it would open to the public on April 15.
The go-kart track is located in the mall's basement, which once housed a beloved movie theatre. It closed in the summer of 2019.
The spokesperson says their site was broken into last month and $57,000 in electric chargers were stolen.
“We had to scramble to France (from where our karts were made) to order new ones. Supply chain issues leaves us waiting.”
