11:00am- David Johnston, 28th Governor General of Canada, Re: The recently established Rideau Hall Foundation, designed to help inspire and honour Canadians, released the foundation’s first initiative in time for Christmas. Called “My Giving Moment”, inspired by Governor General, the campaign invites all Canadians to build a smarter and more caring nation through giving.
11:15am- William Connors, Business Reporter for the Wall Street Journal, Re: BlackBerry Ltd. reported its latest quarterly earnings. It had a $4.4-billion USD net loss from continuing operations. The smartphone company’s revenue was below expectations down 56% in the same quarter last year.
11:30am- Carmi Levy, Independent Tech Analyst, Re: Another rough quarter for Waterloo-based BlackBerry. Analysts expected BlackBerry’s adjusted loss would be 44-cents per share and its revenue would be about $400 million higher at US$1.6 billion, instead revenues came in at $1.2-billion. What does the future hold?
