d’Ailly launches platform

One of the candidates for Waterloo Mayor held a campaign platform launch this morning.
Jan d’Ailly spoke to supporters at the Waterloo Public Square and outlined his priorities and several goals he pledges to accomplish in 180 days if he becomes mayor.
Those items, called the “Action Plan 180”, include greening the Public Square and replacing the bell-shaped sculpture there with something more “interactive” d’Ailly says.
It also includes a commitment to have the Northdale Land Use study, which looks at the student housing and living situation, will under way in 180 days.
d’Ailly says he would vote no to the ballot question about a merger with Kitchener and no to the ballot question of having a discussion about a merger.
He adds he would like to have a larger scale discussion about issues of co-operating with not only Kitchener but Cambridge and townships.
As for the other ballot question for Waterloo, the issue of fluoridating water, d’Ailly says that’s in the people’s hands for now.
d’Ailly is running for mayor against Brenda Halloran, Dale Ross, and Frank Ramsoomair in the October 25th vote.
