The ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks will be marked this morning in Kitchener.
Firefighters and other local emergency services personnel will gather at the Kitchener Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Civic Centre Park.
They’ll form a rotating honour guard sentry and, in full uniform, will stand guard starting at 8:46, when the first plane slammed into the World Trade Centre north tower.
This will end at 10:29, when the second tower collapsed.
The ceremony will include speeches from local firefighters and others.
Among those killed in the Trade Centre terror attack were 343 New York City firefighters.
It was the deadliest single incident in the history of firefighting.
