Over a dozen charges laid after man, woman seen by police during home break-in

Waterloo regional police have laid several charges after a suspect allegedly wanted for previous crimes, was seen actively breaking into a multi-unit residential building in Waterloo.
Saturday morning, officers were patrolling in the university district area of the city, near Hickory Street and Hemlock Street.
Police allege a man, 31, and a woman, 20, were seen breaking into a residential unit. The pair were arrested as they were leaving the building.
“At the time of their arrest, investigators determined both accused were wanted on outstanding warrants,” said police.
The man was wanted in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month. Police said that case involved a knife.
Combined, 16 charges were laid including various weapons offences, break and enter and possession of stolen property.
The investigation is still ongoing.
