Can-Amera Parkway construction will see lane closures next week

More construction woes on the way for Cambridge commuters.

Starting Monday, July 27, construction crews will be shutting down eastbound lanes of Can-Amera Parkway for road improvements between Conestoga Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard.

That stretch of eastbound traffic will have crews on site until October.

It comes as the Region of Waterloo looks to install multi-use paths in the area, improve Grand River Transit (GRT) bus stops, install new lighting, and replace guiderails.

The $2.72 million project will also see the roadway repaved.

Motorists are being asked to detour using Hespeler Road to Bishop Street to Franklin Boulevard.

The latest busing information, including stop changes can be found on the GRT alerts page.
