Regional police investigating string of hardware thefts

Waterloo Regional Police have released images of five suspects believed to be involved in a string of hardware thefts over the past month.
Those images were obtained through store security cameras and show four women and one man.
Police said between Dec. 15, 2025 and Jan. 11, 2026, eight thefts were reported at hardware stores on Gateway Park Dr. in Kitchener and Pinebush Rd. in Cambridge.
In each case, the suspects made off with specific brands, namely: Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Ryobi tools.
One suspect has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information pertinent to the investigation to contact WRPS at 519-570-9777, extension 2207.
