A man is facing charges including forcible confinement after allegedly threatening an employee at a Cambridge store with a knife.
Waterloo Regional Police say it happened soon before 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, around Hespeler Road and Avenue Road.
Police said a store employee had asked a man to leave the business for unspecified reasons.
They said not only did the man not leave the store, he threatened the employee with a box cutter and prevented him from leaving.
The man fled the scene when police were called, and no one was hurt.
Officers found the 55-year-old man not far from the store and made the arrest.
He’s now charged with robbery with a weapon; weapons dangerous; forcible confinement; and fail to comply with release order and a probation order.
