Dog adoption fees covered for Mars Pet Adoption Weekend’s first global rollout

It’s the first time the Mars Pet Adoption Weekend has expanded globally outside of the US. The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (KWSP) is one three partnering shelters across the country that will have the PEDIGREE Foundation covering dog adoption fees. Shelters in 11 countries were included this year in the Mars Adopt-a-thon.

“With more than 40 dogs available for adoption this weekend alone, the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth prove every day they are working to find dogs a forever family,” said Debra Fair, Executive Director, PEDIGREE Foundation in a media release. “At PEDIGREE Foundation, we believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and we are thrilled to be helping KWSP Humane Society make an impact.

It runs Oct. 18 to 20 at both shelter locations – 250 Riverbend Drive in Kitchener or 125 Griffith Road in Stratford.

Adoption hours Saturdays and Sundays start at 11 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. so people can come find a new furry family member without having to pay a dog adoption fee.

A full list of pets available for adoption can be found on the KWSP Humane Society’s website.
