Cambridge man charged with first degree murder in homicide case north of Toronto

By Mark Douglas

A 19-year-old from Cambridge is facing a first degree murder charge, after a body was found on a trail north of Toronto.

York Regional Police say someone walking their dog on a Sunday morning in late April found the body, not far from the Seneca College campus in King Township.

Police have just announced charges were laid last week against Lyjah Griffiths from Cambridge, and a 15-year-old girl from Mississauga.

The girl is too young to be identified.

The victim was an 18-year-old from Montreal.

First degree murder is the only charge.

Police are still investigating and want to hear from anyone who can help the York homicide detectives, now that the names of the accused have come out.
