Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Plan
The Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) plan will transform how families access child care in Waterloo Region by reducing licensed child care fees to an average of $10 per day by September 2025. Fees will be reduced by an average of 25 per cent retroactive to April 1, 2022, with an additional 25 per cent reduction by the end of 2022.
For families who access home child care, the fee reductions under the CWELCC will only be available to families who are registered with a home child care provider that holds a contract with a licensed agency.
