Teen charged after weapons call at Kitchener high school

Waterloo Regional Police have released more information about a weapons call at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School in Kitchener. 

Officers responded to the school just before 1 p.m. on Friday, after getting word of a student in possession of a knife and brass knuckles.

Police were able to make an arrest following a brief foot pursuit.

Two knives were seized. One had a brass knuckle handle guard.

A 15-year-old male has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on April 22.

The incident also prompted a brief hold and secure at the school on Friday afternoon.
