The City of Cambridge is temporarily closing the John Dolson Pool, located at 212 South Street, effective immediately. Staff will be onsite to conduct maintenance on the pool but, other recreation facilities at the centre will continue to operate as usual.
Area Recreational Manager, Conny Smith says that the pool uses a salt water system and having appropriate levels that meet water quality standards is of the utmost importance.
Routine water quality checks focus on four areas: total alkaline levels, PH, chlorine and calcium hardness.
It is expected operations will resume tomorrow. In the meantime, people looking for recreational swims are encouraged to visit the W.G. Johnson Centre, located at 31 Kribs Street.
