Mitchell fire under investigation

A fire at a business in downtown Mitchell is under investigation.
Perth County OPP say the fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. Thursday at a building on Highway 8 west of the Mitchell Post Office.
The fire consumed the entire building and the thick smoke forced the evacuation of residents in neighbouring buildings. There were no reports of injuries.
The West Perth Fire Department was still on scene early Friday morning and Highway 8 in the area was closed.
