Regional Police hit the river on brand new canoe

Patrol cars…pedals…and now paddles.
WRPS will be hitting the water in a new canoe made right here in Kitchener.
Owner of Kitchener’s Handcrafted Canoes James Gjesing says WRPS reached out to them to create the boats for a local aboriginal event.
It took Gjesing 6 weeks to create the pair of canoes for our local police to use during events and to assist with search and rescue efforts.
He says it is a great feeling knowing his handiwork is going to help the community.
Cambridge company Grey Owl Paddles provided the paddles for the canoes
