Police continue to investigate Kitchener home break-in

Waterloo regional police have taken down photos and doorbell camera footage of a person they were looking to speak with following a reported break-in at a Kitchener home.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police said the person had been identified, and the photos had been removed.
The alleged break-in took place sometime over the August long weekend in the Waterbridge Court and Windrush Trail area of the city’s Doon neighbourhood.
Investigators are looking for any further video footage neighbours might have of the area between July 31 and August 3.
Police do not make mention of anything being stolen or any damage to the property, just that an unknown person or persons entered the home. It is unclear how or whether the person previously shown in the video footage released Tuesday is connected to the case.
Police are reminding home owners to keep all doors and windows locked, even when at home to prevent break-ins.

- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras at the front and rear of the property
- Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange for someone to check on the residence
- Report suspicious persons or vehicles to police.
