Drug trafficking investigation in North Perth connected to Waterloo

A home in Waterloo was searched by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from Huron-Perth following a drug trafficking investigation that began about 50 km away.

OPP were led to the city after a traffic stop in North Perth.

During the stop and later search, over $3000 worth of illegal drugs were found by police.

Police also seized a vehicle and numerous weapons.

The individual charged has not been identified, just that they are from Waterloo and are facing numerous charges including unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused will have their first court appearance on October 19.
