Police make arrest after back-to-back robbery, theft incidents in Kitchener

Police have made an arrest following a reported robbery in Kitchener and the suspect allegedly committed another crime before he was put in handcuffs.
Officers responded to the Strasburg Rd. and Ottawa St. South intersection shortly after 10 p.m. on July 12 due to a robbery incident at a bus stop.
A victim told police they were approached by an unknown man who had a knife and demanded they hand over their belongings.
The victim was not injured in the interaction and none of their property was taken. The suspect fled shortly afterward.
About 35 minutes later, police arrested a male suspect on Ottawa St. South and say he stole various items from a nearby store before he was located.
A 26-year-old has been charged with robbery and theft under $5,000 relating to the two incidents.
