The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony‘s second act continues.
This week, the organization announced its 2026-2027 season. It’s called “The Journey Home,” which is fitting, following the symphony’s homecoming to Centre in the Square last year.
The “encore” followed a tumultuous period that was sparked by a bankruptcy declaration in 2023 and led to an overhaul and resurrection.
The bankruptcy was ultimately annulled in 2024, with a new board elected.
The symphony first returned for the 2025-2026 season and now, they’re ready to do it again.
“It is with great excitement that we share our 2026-2027 season with you,” said Bill Poole, Chair of the KWS Board of Directors, in a release. “Buoyed by last year’s enthusiastic response from the community, we are delighted to bring this ambitious season of lively and meaningful music to audiences across the region.”
The symphony says “The Journey Home” will showcase exceptional music, musicians, and guest artists while representing a powerful symbol of reconnection and rediscovery.
