There’s no hiding from Guelph police officers, as a Kitchener man has learned the hard way.
Police said it began around 1:00, Wednesday afternoon, when officers spotted a man driving a van who they recognized as being a suspect from an outstanding warrant.
They also saw a woman in the front passenger seat.
Officers pulled the van over in the east end of Guelph.
Police say the man went to hide in the back of the van, while the woman shifted over into the driver’s seat.
It didn’t do the 33-year-old Kitchener man any good, though, as he was found and arrested on a warrant for missing a court date.
Police said they also discovered he was out on two bail orders, and part of his bail conditions were house arrest and having no contact with the woman who was right there in the van with him.
On top of all that, police said he was a suspended driver.
He was charged with five counts of breaching bail conditions, failing to attend court, and driving while suspended.
