Two drivers charged in two-vehicle Cambridge crash

Two drivers have been charged following a two-vehicle crash in Cambridge over the weekend.

Shortly before noon on Saturday, emergency crews responded to a collision involving an Audi SUV and a Honda sedan at the Elgin Street North and Ferguson Avenue intersection.

The 37-year-old driver of the Honda, along with two child passengers, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 72-year-old driver of the Audi was not hurt.

Through an investigation, the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) charged the 37-year-old man with improper signal and failing to properly secure children passengers.

The 72-year-old man was charged with failing to yield to through traffic.

A release from WRPS said, “Police remind caregivers that ensuring child seats are correctly installed and used according to manufacturer guidelines helps reduce the risk of injury in the event of a collision.”
