Every year, many people across Waterloo Region, Ontario, and even all of Canada run to raise money for cancer research through the Terry Fox Run. Now, this year’s run is right around the corner, and there are a couple ways to get involved.
With multiple runs hosted across the Region of Waterloo on Sept. 20, residents in the region will have the opportunity to join their community in raising money.
A Terry Fox Run will be held in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, with donations accepted online and at the run.
Organizers for the run are inviting everyone to join, with a mix of walkers, runners, rollerblades and cyclists expected.
To partake in your local Terry Fox Run, those interested can register online before the run. While there is no registration fee, attendees are being asked to fundraise or make a personal donation online. Residents interested will also be able to register at the location of the run, but only for a limited time before they start.
Just one day away from the start of the run, over $120,000 has been raised online throughout the three cities in Waterloo Region.
