It was a good start to the series for Rangers and fans alike, after a 3-1 win over the Greyhounds in the opening game of their series.
The defense will be important in tonight’s game, as the regular season saw the Greyhounds average four goals per game against the Blueshirts, but Rangers goalie Christian Kirsch held them to just one on Friday night.
Conversely, the offense will be critical as well as the Rangers face not only the Soo’s stellar goalie Carter George, but the fact that in the regular season the Greyhounds bested the Rangers in each overtime game.
Rangers fans may remember the last time they faced off in the playoffs in 2018, where they fell to the Greyhounds in double overtime.
The Blueshirts will head to GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault St. Marie for games three and four on Tuesday and Thursday, with a game five back at the Aud on Friday if needed.
But before that they’ll take to the Aud tonight for game two. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. and you can catch all the action live on 570 NewsRadio starting at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show.
