Early morning targeted stabbing sends 1 to hospital

One person was sent to hospital after a stabbing incident in Kitchener early Tuesday morning.

Waterloo regional police are investigating after a call at around 3:00 a.m. described a person being assaulted with an edged weapon. Police went to Victoria Street North and Weber Street West in Kitchener.

Once on scene, they found a male victim with injuries. He was sent to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers said they believe it was a targeted incident.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
