‘High-risk’ arrest brings in third suspect in Cambridge stabbing case

Another arrest has been made after a man was stabbed multiple times in a Cambridge neighbourhood last week.

Waterloo regional police have now charged a third person with various assault and weapon-related offences.

A 45-year-old man from Cambridge has been charged. He was taken in by police on Tuesday in the Hespeler Road area. Police said they “conducted a high-risk arrest” with no issues.

In the late morning on March 23, officers were called to the South Galt area of the city to reports of a stabbing.

A 31-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds in the Scrimger and Ballantyne avenues area.

His injuries at the time were described as serious but non-life-threatening.

At that time, two people, a Cambridge man and woman were arrested and charged.

Police make no mention of any additional suspects in the case.
