Garbage truck hits hydro pole in Elmira

Part of Arthur Street South in Elmira was temporarily closed to traffic on Friday afternoon after a garbage truck hit a hydro pole.

The incident led to live wires landing across the roadway.

Arthur Street South had to be closed from Howard Avenue to Oriole Parkway for the clean-up.

Police said no injuries were reported resulting from the collision.

Arthur Street South reopened in the area shortly before 6 p.m.
