Elmira hosting provincial curling championships

Ontario’s top curlers are in Elmira this week to take part in the provincial championships with a chance to compete in nationals on the line.
The Elmira Curling Club is hosting the 2026 Food & Farm Care Ontario Men’s & Women’s Provincial Championships at Woolwich Memorial Centre from Jan. 4 to 11.
“It takes a lot of work and a lot of coordination, but it’s going to be well worth it,” said Bill Barr, chair of the organizing committee for the event.
Elmira hosted the tournament back in 2019 and, with the help of nearly 200 volunteers, organized another successful event.

Twelve men’s teams and 12 women’s teams will compete in the tournament, with the winners of Sunday’s final matches being given an invitation to represent Ontario at the Brier in St. John’s, Newfoundland and the Scotties in Mississauga in February.
