Hamilton man charged in tow truck operator hit-and-run

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a 32-year-old man from Hamilton in relation to a fatal hit and run along the 401 earlier this month.

On Dec. 3 just after 7 a.m., a 42-year old Kitchener tow truck operator was responding to a call west of Oxford Road 3, when he was struck and killed by a commercial vehicle.

The driver failed to remain at the scene.

The collision was one of several in early December along that stretch of the highway, two of which were fatal.

According to the OPP, 32-year-old Sandeep Singh has been arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing death, and failure to stop after an accident resulting in death.

He is scheduled to appear at a Woodstock Courthouse on Jan. 27, 2026.
