STSWR says text message alerts about bus delays are restored

Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) has resolved an issue that was affecting its text message alerts.

“Our text message alerts for bus delays are currently not functioning, and we do not yet have an estimated time for when the service will be restored,” wrote STSWR in a social media post on Tuesday afternoon.

STSWR said it would work with IT to fix the issue and as of Wednesday afternoon, the text message alerts were working again.

Email notifications were still functioning properly during the disruption.

“Thank you to everyone for your patience while we worked through this issue!” STSWR said.

The issue coincided with the arrival of mixed, wintry weather that included freezing drizzle and snowfall.
