Stunt driving charges laid for weekend speeder caught in Kitchener

A Kitchener driver found out the hard way that police don’t like to see people going 49 km/h over the speed limit on a city street.

Waterloo regional police put out a post on social media about a speeder caught sometime overnight between Saturday and Sunday morning.

The post said the driver was travelling at 119 km/hr, on a stretch of Trussler Road marked as a 70 km/hr zone.

The 43-year-old Kitchener woman was charged with stunt driving, speeding, and careless driving.

Police said her driver’s licence suspended for 30 days, and her vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
