An alleged dangerous driver is now off the roads and facing charges in Woolwich Township, after concerns were expressed by community members to regional police.
According to officers, Woolwich residents reported the driver of a white Ford F-150 pickup truck travelling on Arthur Street South, seen on “most weekdays” driving dangerously.
Police said they’d received reports of that same F-150 with what appeared to be no licence plates, travelling at excessive speeds and overtaking other vehicles.
On Thursday evening, officers out for targeted enforcement stopped the white Ford F-150, clocked travelling at 132km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The 21-year-old Woolwich Township man behind the wheel has since had his licence suspended for 30 days, and his truck has also been impounded for 14 days.
He will also be facing a list of charges, including:
- Stunt driving
- Speeding
- Careless driving
- Obstruct plate
- Fail to display two plates
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
Waterloo Regional Police have offered their thanks to the public for assistance in keeping roadways safe. They encourage anyone who may spot dangerous driving behaviour to report it.
