Blank gun fired in altercation, 1 arrested: WRPS

One man was arrested following a physical altercation Friday involving the discharge of a noxious substance and a blank gun.

Around 8 p.m. on the evening of Sept. 19, police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Bushnell Drive and Elgin Street North in Cambridge.

When they arrived on scene police arrested a 23-year-old man after an investigation revealed he had fired off a blank gun when he was sprayed by a noxious substance by several unknown individuals.

Police believe that this was a targeted incident, and no injuries were reported.

The 23-year-old is now facing two charges, one for assault with a weapon and one for possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

An investigation is still ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
