The Kitchener Rangers kicked off their opening game of the season with fans on the edge of their seats.
The Blueshirts fell behind early, but climbed the scoreboard in the third before clinching the win against the Brantford Bulldogs in overtime.
The first two periods caused upset for fans, with the Bulldogs holding 3-0 going into the third.
This is where the Rangers turned the momentum back in their favour. Cameron Arquette scored the first goal of the Rangers’ season in the third period.
The team would go on to score two more unanswered in the period, with Arquette scoring his second, and Tanner Lam tying the game at 3-3 with a goal of his own.
The score from Lam would force overtime, where he would then end things on his own terms. He scored the winning goal just 41 seconds in, sending the hometown fans at the Aud home happy.
The team will now get set for their first road trip of the season, heading to Erie to battle the Otters Saturday evening.
Puck is set to drop at 7 p.m., and the full broadcast can be heard right on 570 NewsRadio, kicking off with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Mike Farwell and Josh Piercey.
