Kitchener woman, 19, killed in motorcycle crash

A 19-year-old woman was killed in a motorcycle crash in Kitchener, regional police said in an update.

The single-vehicle collision was reported on Wednesday afternoon shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the Huron Road and Saddlebrook Court neighbourhood.

Initially, police said one individual sustained serious injuries.

In an update Thursday afternoon, police confirmed the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was identified as a 19-year-old woman from Kitchener.

Investigators believe the motorcycle lost control and struck the curb and grass shoulder area.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
