Crash sends motorcyclist to trauma centre, OPP searching for driver

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

OPP are trying to track down a driver after a serious crash involving a motorcyclist in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Emergency crews were called to the Wellington Road 51 and Wellington Road 39 intersection shortly after 11 a.m. on Wednesday due to reports of a two-vehicle crash between a white sedan and a motorcycle.

When responders arrived, they found the motorcyclist on the ground and the individual was transported to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told OPP that the crash allegedly occurred as a white sedan abruptly turned left into the path of the motorcyclist, causing the biker to suddenly brake and ejecting them from their vehicle.

A release from Wellington County OPP said, “The white sedan continued on and fled the scene in a westbound direction on Wellington Road 51 towards Ariss.”

Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
