A summertime long weekend calls for suds and a barbecue. So why not let the professionals handle the cooking?
Waterloo Rib and Beer Fest kicks off Friday afternoon in RIM Park with some of the best barbeque teams from across the country and beyond fire up the pit and do what they do best.
The Beer Market will have plenty of frosty beverages to help wash down the meat.
This is a family friendly event so kids are welcome to check out the Kids Zone.
There will also be live music throughout the weekend with the headliners each night being a tribute band.
Friday it’s Hell N’ Back a tribute to AC/DC. Saturday night, The Trip, a Tragically Hip tribute takes the stage and Stoned and Rolling, a tribute to the Rolling Stones headlines Sunday evening.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to take Grand River Transit as parking will be at a premium.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday and at noon both Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $2 and kids under five are free.
If you can’t make it to Waterloo this weekend, next weekend (August 8-10) is the Cambridge Ribfest and Craft Beer Show at Riverside Park.
