Suspect at large after edged weapon assault in Kitchener

An assault suspect is at large after an incident in Kitchener involving an alleged attack with an edged weapon.

Waterloo regional police were called out to Ottawa Street South and Strasburg Road, just before 5:30, Tuesday afternoon.

Police said a 34-year-old man had gotten into a verbal fight with an unknown male, who assaulted him with an edged weapon.

Police did not describe the weapon used in the assault in detail.

The first man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The attacker had fled the area.

Police described him as male, Black, between 20- to 25-years-old, with short dark hair.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about what happened.
