The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has made an arrest after a victim was found with injuries from an edged weapon.

The male victim was located early Monday when officers were called about a reported disturbance at a residential building.

It happened around 3 a.m. in the Wissler Road area of Waterloo.

Investigators determined the injuries were a result of an edged weapon and they believed the victim and the assailant were known to each other.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries were described as being non-life-threatening.

Hours after the incident, police charged a 38-year-old Waterloo man with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
