Potential measles exposure at West Montrose school

There’s an advisory about a new potential measles exposure at a local school.

Foundation Christian School on Katherine Street in West Montrose has been added to the Region of Waterloo’s list of potential public exposures to measles.

The affected dates are Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Anyone who may have been exposed is being directed to monitor for symptoms until June 20.

On Thursday, Public Health Ontario reported 74 new measles cases across the province in the last week.

The latest update is lower than the number of new cases reported over the last several weeks but includes an uptick in northern Ontario.

Just one new case was reported in Waterloo Region.
