Kids helping kids is one of the goals of the Family and Children’s Services Foundation Waterloo Region (FCSF).
It was with that in mind, LemonAID was created.
FCSF provides all the materials, but the volunteers man the stands and sell the lemonade to raise funds to send kids to summer camp.
In Waterloo Region, LemonAID 2025 is happening on June 7, and they’re looking for helpers.
Jill Stoddart, FCSF, Executive Director, was a guest on The Mike Farwell Show last week.
“Hopefully kids, as well as businesses and families set-up those stands and then they sell lemonade as well as doing other activities, to raise funds to help send kids to summer camp.”
“Because of our generous sponsors in this event. One hundred per cent of the funds raised go directly to sending kids in the Region to summer camp,” Stoddart added.
She went on to say how transformative an experience summer camp can be for kids.
“Kids can learn some amazing skills, like social skills and build confidence. They also make new friends and get new networks of caring adults in their lives. It can be really critical for many of the kids in the Region to have these experiences over the summer.”
Stoddard says there are other ways to support the campaign. There is list of FAQ’s to answer any questions.
