Extreme Weather Centre: Cancellations on Wednesday

The 570 NewsRadio Extreme Weather Centre is open for Wednesday, April 2.

Environment Canada is calling for a mix of messy wintry weather returning to the region today. The forecast includes snow, rain and freezing rain with the possibility of thunderstorms.

It’s expected the snow early this afternoon will turn into freezing rain with expected 4 mm of ice up. The weather agency expects that by the end of the storm 30 to 50 mm of rain could fall.

Post-secondary schools:

  • Wilfrid Laurier’s campuses and locations are closing at 1:30 p.m. due to severe weather. They will resume as normal at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday April 3.
