A Waterloo movie theatre is back open, after power outage issues at the beginning of February.
Landmark Cinemas Waterloo at The Boardwalk was closed the first weekend of the month due to a power outage.
The outage was later confirmed to be due to a blown transformer, which is still not repaired. In an email to movie club members, the cinema said it would still reopen on Thursday, Feb. 12, but with the help of a generator.
“While our power has still not been restored, we don’t want to keep you waiting on popcorn and big screen moments. We’re bringing in a generator that will continue to run until power has been fully restored to the building, ” reads a post.
Last week, officials had said they hoped the location would be open by Friday, Feb. 6.
Nearly a week later, those construction crews are still working, with certain areas fenced off.
“Your safety is our top priority, and we’re making sure everything is in great shape for your return.”
