Noxious substance sprayed at group standing outside of bar in Uptown Waterloo

A noxious substance, believed to be bear mace, was sprayed at a group of people standing outside of a bar in Uptown Waterloo on Thursday.

Around 2:25 a.m., regional police were called to the King Street North bar district. A male, not known to the group, came up and allegedly sprayed them with the noxious substance before fleeing the area.

Several people sustained minor physical injuries, some were treated on scene by paramedics, others taken to local hospital.

Regional police have released a photo of the man in hopes the public can help identify him.
