Two arrests made after three carjackings last June: WRPS

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has made two arrests following three carjackings last June.

Police said each of the incidents happened in June 2024 and saw vehicles stolen in Waterloo Region.

In each case, a male and female suspect were armed with a knife and baseball bat. No injuries were reported in any of the carjackings.

The investigations continued for several months and ultimately saw one of the stolen vehicles recovered in Barrie, Ont.

Forensic evidence was left behind, which led to two suspects being identified.

On Feb. 27, a 22-year-old Kitchener man and 20-year-old woman from Warminster, a small town north of Barrie, were arrested.

They’re both facing several charges including robbery with a weapon, uttering threats, and theft of a motor vehicle.
