It’s back to school and back to work for many this week, and you’ll need to bundle up.
A frigid air mass is moving over southern Ontario early this week.
570 NewsRadio’s Meteorologist Jill Taylor says all the winter gear will be needed when getting the kids ready in the morning.
“Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday it’s going to feel quite cool, it’s going to feel like -15 C, -20 C at times this week. It will be a little tricky to get back into a morning routine for people when it’s this cold.”
Taylor notes any extended vacationers may also be feeling the cold.
“It’s not just us in southern Ontario, this cold air extends well into the U.S. deep south. Sad to say, if you still have a holiday planned, you may still have a bit of a chill, even into the Florida panhandle.”
The average high for this time of year is around -4 C, something that the region will start to see closer to Friday and into the weekend.
Monday’s high is -7 C, with wind chill values around -15 C.
