Cambridge Mill featured on Top 100 Restaurants list

OpenTable has released its list of the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada for 2024, and a Cambridge business is getting some love.

The Cambridge Mill, in downtown Galt, is known for its all-season patio and historic location. The list is put together following over a million restaurant reviews and ratings.

The restaurant’s website describes the popular venue as “Beautifully restored inside and out, every inch of this five-storey 19th century mill offers warmth and comfort. The building itself, Dickson Mill, is one of the oldest surviving industrial buildings in Cambridge and tells the story of the city’s manufacturing history and progress.”

OpenTable also found more people are going out for meals but plan to support local restaurants throughout 2025.

And it’s not just dinner that is drawing in the crowds, late lunches are becoming more popular according to the survey.

Something the Cambridge Mill is jumping on.

“The Canadian dining scene is continuing to evolve. Canadians are breaking away from traditional patterns by embracing mid-week dining, which is good news for restaurants as these times can be typically quieter, as well as craving unique culinary experiences and group dining. The even better news, these trends are set to continue in 2025, according to new research,” says Matt Davis, country director for OpenTable Canada.

Davis adds more restaurant goers are eating out mid-week, Wednesday being the most popular option.

Hump-day business in fact, seeing a 16 per cent increase in customers on a year over year basis.
